SECRETARIAT TEAM

AnnWang
Secretary General
A senior at West Point Grey Academy, Ann is honoured to serve as the secretary general for the 20th anniversary of VYMUN. This conference holds a special place in her heart, not just because it introduced her to the eye-opening world of Model UN, but because it empowered her to find her voice in a world of complex debates and diverse perspectives. She still remembers her very first committee session: nervously reading from a wrinkled pre-written speech, hoping no one would notice the tremble in her voice. Since then, she has grown to embrace the challenge of open discussions, spirited rebuttals, and diplomatic collaboration. Outside of Model UN, she loves to play piano, read fantasy and sci-fi books, and mix mysterious chemicals in the chemistry lab. At this milestone conference, she hopes to help others realize that they, too, have the power to create change through discourse.

Elliott Deyell
Director General
In his final year of high school, Elliott is proud to serve as the Director-General of the 20th anniversary of VYMUN. VYMUN 2022 was his first MUN experience, and these past three years of debate, negotiation and public speaking stem from that experience. He owes his confidence and dedication to years of delegating and staffing at various MUN conferences, as well as many great friendships. Outside of his role as Director-General, Elliott enjoys skiing at Whistler, playing the electric guitar, and going record shopping, however detrimental it may be to his bank account. Elliott looks forward to seeing a new generation of delegates experiencing VYMUN for the first time and hopes it inspires them just as it inspired him.
VYMUN 2025

Frankie Nakhuda
Chargé d'Affairs
A senior at West Point Grey Academy, Frankie is thrilled to return to serve as the Chargé d’Affairs for VYMUN 2025. Frankie often reminisces about the first time she wrote a position paper, frantically messaging her brothers for guidance. These memories only now remind her of why Model UN became one of her passions. The fast-paced and rigorous environment made her keen to engage in intense and meaningful debates. Whether it was only speaking once and feeling good about that, or getting into a heated debate with another delegate, Frankie finds herself revelling in her memories of Model UN. When not at a MUN conference, you can find Frankie whipping up new desserts in the kitchen, walking her dogs at Spanish Banks, or binge-watching The Office in bed. As her MUN journey soon comes to a close, she looks forward to seeing new delegates blossom in the lively world of MUN at VYMUN one last time.

James Wang
Chief of Staff
A junior at West Point Grey Academy, James is excited to serve as the Chief of Staff at VYMUN 2025. James’ first-ever MUN conference was VYMUN 2022. He remembers apprehensively raising his placard and doing his best to keep up with the fast-moving committee. Through three years, he has grown to love and cherish the intense nature of Model UN. Beyond MUN, James spends his time playing tennis, getting disappointed by his sports teams, and watching Suits. James looks forward to giving back to the conference that introduced him to MUN and making the 20th iteration of VYMUN the best yet!

Evangeline Lin
Secretary General
VYMUN Junior
She is currently a junior at West Point Grey Academy, and delighted to be the Secretary General for VYMUN Jr. Ever since getting kidnapped at her first Model UN conference, she has grown to enjoy the chaotic and fun nature of conferences. Not only has she made new memories and developed her critical thinking skills throughout the years, but Model UN has also brought many friends into her life. Whether it be running to get a coffee right before a committee session, or trying to read directives in the middle of a crisis, her life would not be the same without MUN. In her free time, she also enjoys running around Vancouver looking for new matcha places, writing in journals, and binge watching Netflix. She is excited to help inspire and welcome new delegates to the world of Model UN, and hopes they enjoy it as much as she does.

Hugo Chung
Director General
VYMUN Junior
A junior at West Point Grey Academy, Hugo is excited to serve as the Director General for VYMUN Jr. He still remembers walking into the wrong conference room in his first MUN conference and being terribly confused. Through the course of attending more and more conferences, he has built up greater confidence and meaningful connections. After attending numerous conferences starting in grade 9, he is excited to see many new faces at MUN and getting to inspire and start a high school career in MUN. Outside of MUN, Hugo enjoys playing the violin and piano, programming the next big thing, watching documentaries, and doing math. Hugo looks forward to inspiring the next generation of delegates to engage in diplomacy and make long-lasting connections.

Owen Qu
Director of Logistics
As a senior at West Point Grey Academy, Owen has the distinct honor of serving as the Director of Logistics at VYMUN 2025. He still reminisces about his first MUN conference in 2022 as a quiet and nervous delegate, raising his placard a grand total of zero times. Yet, he observed the dutiful yet cheerful attitude of the dais, negotiated during chaotic crisis events, and experienced the joys of model united nations. In the past few years, the tense yet rewarding nature of MUN has grown on him, becoming one of the highlights of his highschool experience. When not drowning in a sea of directives and motions, Owen can be found playing the piano, binging various shows, and losing an abundant amount of hair doing math. He looks forward to meeting delegates and hearing lively debates at the 20th iteration of VYMUN.

Sheree Li

Approaching her Senior Year, Sheree is ecstatic to serve as VYMUN 2025’s Delegate Affairs leader.
