Established in 1958, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) is responsible for promoting international cooperation in the peaceful use and exploration of outer space. The committee oversees the implementation of international space treaties and ensures that space remains accessible and beneficial to all humankind. UNOOSA addresses issues such as satellite regulation, space debris management, militarization of space, and equitable access to space technologies. As commercial space activities and geopolitical interests grow, UNOOSA plays a crucial role in shaping the future of global space governance.

UNOOSA will follow crisis MUN Rules of Procedure and is designed for delegates of all experience levels. Position papers are not mandatory for this committee, but must be completed in order to be considered for an award.
