David Eby is the current Premier of British Columbia and has served since 2022, leading the province through a period marked by significant economic, housing, and public safety challenges. He is the MLA for Vancouver-Point Grey, a seat he has held since first being elected to the BC Legislative Assembly in 2013. Prior to assuming the premiership, he built a distinguished career in law and public service, most notably as the Executive Director of the BC Civil Liberties Association, where he became a prominent advocate for human rights and government accountability. Eby went on to serve as Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Housing under Premier John Horgan, where he earned a reputation as a decisive and reform-minded cabinet minister. He currently leads the BC New Democratic Party and continues to serve as Premier following the party's electoral victory in 2024.
