After the latest conflict in Sokovia, the governments around the world proposed an idea that aims
to limit the amount of destruction the Avengers make. This idea is called the “Sokovia Accords.”
Many Avengers like the idea of putting control on their supernatural abilities, whilst
others are extremely opposed to the idea of limiting their own potential and response ability.
“Freedom is ultimately better.” Captain America tells us; “We need to act on our own judgment
to maximize our effectiveness.”
On the other hand, Iron Man seems to be extremely supportive of the Accords. He makes
it very obvious that he was very interested in the idea of limiting their responses to avoid rash
decisions. However, Captain America points out that Iron Man did in fact state: “We saved a
large majority of the people in Sokovia, with there only being 177 people who died in the
incident.”1
“Iron Man literally contradicted himself. He tells us that by acting on our own judgment and
metrics, we were able to severely limit the amount of lives lost.”
“We saved lives, but we ultimately caused extreme destruction and wreckage pon the city of
Sokovia. Although the Accords may be harsh, amendments may tailor it to our best interests.”
Whilst the two superpowers in the Avengers seem to disagree, the rest of the Avengers remain
relatively quiet, although they did give hints to which side they are leaning toward. Spider-Man
tells us that modifying or amending the Accords will only cause more trouble because troubles
and problems already plague the universe. This statement was met with applause and agreement
from many Avengers.
“Iron Man is neglecting the entire purpose of the avengers.” Nick Fury says, “The Sokovia
Accords are undermining the usefulness and sole purpose of the avengers’ supernatural
abilities.”
The Avengers who are against the Accords strongly agreed with this statement.
