In the latest scoop from Al Jazeera reporters, members of WHO (World Health
Organization) are planning to take a firm stance against the spread of tuberculosis (TB). Most if,
not all, countries agree on three main points of interest. Funding for research, solutions to TB,
and lastly education and informing the general public of the dangers and spread of TB. This is
because most people in these high risk zones, such as third world countries, have no idea what
TB is, and how to prevent its spread.
So far, there seem to be two main blocs addressing the problem. The first one being the
United TB Activists (UTBA), consisting of New Zealand, Australia, Libya, and many more
nations. They aim to fund research, spread awareness and educate citizens through media and
news broadcasts, and to involve TB stopping tech.
The second bloc, aims to address more short term solutions through short term solvency
tech and development such as vaccines and antibiotics, as well as longer term relief through
mandatory testing in high-risk locations. Relief centers and other forms of TB stopping
infrastructure also play a vital role in the framework of the second bloc.
