A controversial debate begins in the World Health Organization (WHO) as the fourth committee session opens for the day. Delegates passionately debate about the devastating impact climate change has on public health. Starting off the heated session, Indonesia delivers a strong speech about how its nation has experienced climate disasters first-hand, along with how it affected its nation.

Indonesia: “We must take action immediately. In just 2024 alone, 142 healthcare facilities have been damaged due to climate disasters. Indonesia demands that all healthcare staff should be trained for climate emergencies, so they can be prepared for them.”

Many nations immediately supported and backed up Indonesia, aggressively claiming that it is one of the biggest threats to public health. In addition, low income countries are being affected the most, and should be the most supported.

Later, the debate veered towards possible solutions and how countries can support health issues caused by climate change. While delegates were in a hot debate, a dramatic crisis threw the entire committee into absolute chaos. Irish men barge in, angrily claiming that the country delegates are “only hearing what the famous people have to say”, and not everyone’s voices are heard. This leaves stunned delegates with a new perspective.

After the Irish men leave, and order is once again restored, the nations continue sharing what they are doing to support health issues caused by climate change. The United Kingdom took center stage, offering to compromise with countries unwilling to sacrifice their oil and fossil fuels for a cleaner environment. The nation claims to aid them, saying that what we really need right now is advancements in renewable energy that can go on in future generations. While many eco-centered countries eagerly nod their heads in approval, a fierce group of nations are still in denial and resistance.

Fox News is excited to report on where these debates will eventually lead to. Will the nations find peace and a solution to these health issues? Stay tuned to find out.
