With the revolting Myanmar military junta wreaking havoc upon domestic civilians, a new crisis has been noticed by the international community - the Rohingya Refugee Crises. Earlier today, delegates from nine different countries gathered together and had set their differences aside to unite in aiding the endangered civilians of Myanmar.
As the displaced and undersupplied Rohingya people are being exiled out of the country, many struggle to survive under the effects of ethnic cleansing. Regarding this, plans had been made to support these victims, including setting up guarded and internationally supplied refugee camps outside of Myanmar, or to directly state a demilitarised zone to temporarily secure civilians. As a result of this international co-operation, many civilians had been successfully relocated in internationally guarded camps. The plan to execute airdropping missions in Myanmar had also proved to be a major success, delivering much needed supplies to trapped escapees inside of the junta-controlled lands Myanmar and indirectly assisting the purged population in their escape.
Despite this, the stubborn Myanmar military continues to hunt down Rohingya civilians under their zones of control. Due to this, the international community currently cannot directly rescue purged groups inside of Myanmar.
Later on, a proposal for a bribe to rescue Rohingya people trapped inside of Myanmar was made by the United States, who offered two billion U.S. dollars towards the military government in exchange for a safe corridor that leads civilians toward China. However, due to China’s previous purging of similar Muslim groups, many Rohingya civilians refused to flee to the corridor, effectively causing a waste of two billion dollars that will potentially aid the oppressor in its future actions.
China, in return, reaffirmed to the international audiences in a recent interview that this claim of oppression “is so false” and that “this information is clearly not from a reliable source, do not believe them!” Despite this denial, many members of the conference still maintain a firm confirming stance on China’s mistreatments of certain ethnic groups. Russia was also caught in the scandal as international parties protested Russia’s action of supplying weapons towards the junta; however, no rebuttals came from the delegate of Russia.
The conference’s members were re-directed towards resolving the crisis when the United Kingdom called for unity when facing this issue, urging that “we can work as one.” The conference was later resumed with co-operated intentions on solving the Rohingya Refugee Crisis in large.
